For a start, how would you transport all the necessary gear to make a home in an ideal location without making any noise? Unless there happened to be a Home Depot next to the waterfall?
Makes more sense to adapt the hone you already have imo.
Watched the sequel last week, very much enjoyed it but I agree that it was never going to have the impact of the first.
You don’t need a waterfall, just the increased background noise and that wouldn’t be difficult to do at all
Fair play, I was mainly referring to the idea of moving near the waterfall.
Maybe that’s something they could have explored in the future - I can’t remember how far into the invasion the first one is set.
Either way, it’s not something that bothered me tbh.

Yesterday- the beatles fantasy pic. After a global event only one guy has any recollection of the beatles back catalogue, he then proceeds to claim the songs as his own.

Not a great film, hokey is the best word to describe it. It also has Ed Sheeran acting as an exaggerated version of himself. I'd say 6/10 at best.
I would love to change my username, but I fully understand the T&C's (it was an old band nickname). So please feel free to call me Dave.

As I remember it the noise sensitive aliens are defeated by a small girl accidentally discovering that the noise sensitive aliens can be defeated by nasty noises. No one on the planet thought of this previously? Although by that far into the film I'd largely lost interest so I may be wrong.

Started watching 'Spiral - from the book of SAW'. Turned it off after 10 mins - just more boring and gratuitous torture porn.

While I quite enjoyed the film it did seem odd that these aliens could exist on the same planet where Sheryl Crow is considered a good singer.

    American Woman - 2018

Heartfelt story about a ‘white trash’ family, whereby the main character’s (played by Sienna Miller) sixteen year old daughter goes missing leaving Miller to raise her grandson.

It’s is all car crash stuff, and quite an honest depiction of relatively poor Delaware residents trying to find direction and meaning.

Supporting cast of Aaron Paul and Christina Hendricks do their best, but the film never quite hits its potential.

May have been better if it had stayed a bit more art house.

    6/10

    Yesterday

Not a huge amount to add to what’s already been said, other than that as a big Beatles fan I found it less jarring than I had possibly expected, and it shows the sheer quality of their songs very well. The best bit was something I wasn’t quite expecting but was very well done. (Spoiler avoidance.)

The overly ever-present Lily James was slightly less irritating than usual too…

    7/10

    Tenet

A great deal of money was spent on the making of this pile of garbage. Kenneth Branagh is hilariously bad and that's the best thing about it.

Watched No Country For Old Men for the first time a couple of weeks back.  Absolutely brilliant and Javier Bardem makes one of the best psychopathic baddies ever, despite (or perhaps because of) his awful haircut.  9/10.

I think he just shot the hairdresser before they'd finished...

He is utterly terrifying, easily one of the best baddies in any film. A Terminator in human form.

DAYS OF THE BAGNOLD SUMMER - 2019

Directed by Simon Bird from The Inbetweeners, this is a lighthearted take on a young lad's summer hols stuck at home with his Mum. He is into Heavy Metal and being teenage (lots of grumpy attitude and angst due to being teenage and the fact his Dad left the family unit for a new life in Florida some ten years earlier) whilst his Mum is trying to have a semblance of a life.

Earl Cave (one of Nick Cave's sons) does very well in the lead role - manages to be quite unlikeable whilst still charismatic and garnering our sympathy.

It is engaging and enjoyable, not very demanding (fine by me) and made me think/chuckle about when I was that age.

    A pleasant 6.5/10

    Moonrise Kingdom - 2012
A Wes Anderson film so it has his usual stylised direction and quirkiness. It's quite a fun film about two kids running away although the plot is a bit inconsequential. Quite a few big name actors (apart from the kids) playing out of character supporting roles.
    It's non-taxing nonsense but it's reasonably entertaining - 7/10

Also HUGELY recommended - Remember with Martin Landau, Christopher Plummer and Bruno Ganz.  It's brilliant.  I'm sure you can Google the plotline yourselves, but I can't recommend it enough.  Be interested to see if others love it as much as I do.  9.5/10.

    6 Days (Netflix)

Dramatisation of the Iranian Embassy siege back in 1980 and the SAS going in to end it.

I thought this was really well done, despite knowing the outcome and having seen a few docus, it managed to keep the tension up. A few liberities taken but nothing too jarring.

Only downside was the really annoying over the top accent that the lady playing Kate Adie used.

If you want a gripping film about an embassy then check out Argo if you haven’t already. Brilliant work from Ben Affleck.

Calling that acting is probably an exaggeration in itself. I did enjoy the film though.

He does actually come across as quite annoying and self-centred, so I'm not sure how much of it is exaggerated or acting...

I did likewise enjoy the film a lot. It actually increased MrsICBM's appreciation for the Beatles too, which is a side benefit.
