Microsoft had decided to scrap Windows 9 ... confused? It was never launched as it was pants. All hail Windows 10. Anyone got Apple's telephone number .... :-)

Windows 12 is out in January .. :-)

  • I have no problem with Windows 8.1.  Don't see what the fuss is all about.

  • I have no problem with Windows 8 or 8.1; I used 8 for one day, got bored, and went back to my Mac. :)

  • Well, the tradition from Microsoft is good-version -> bad-version -> good-version -> bad-version -> etc. I guess they decided it was too much effort to put out a good version this time, so they just skipped it and went to the next half-baked OS attempt.

I don't care what the name of the captive demon is, just so long as the eldritch device works.

I'm not locked in here with you, you are locked in here with me.

vista, 8 and 8.1 converted me to Chromebooks, Linux and MacOS.
Hopefully 9 will be optimised to run on slightly lesser hardware, so I can finally scrape vista off the bottom of my old desktop's shoe and make it usable once more. I'm signing up for the prerelease Win9 so I can report back to yall :) That, and I am a cheapskate who won't want to fork out for a copy when it becomes available.

Eh? In the last 6 years, I've not once had to write my own drivers to make any hardware work. In fact, I haven't even had to install a driver; it's all been taken care of for me. Unlike, for example, Windows.

Also...gaming is perfectly do-able on Linux. Can you say "Steam"?
