1970 Gibson Les Paul Deluxe Goldtop for sale.

Been with me a long time this guitar and used it loads but time to move it along. All things must pass. Very much an issues or players grade beast but hand on heart this is one of the best LPs I've played/ owned and played a lot. I've used this on some albums and songs too and those can be found in the links below.

This may show a Tele but it's recorded with the Goldtop! ⬇️⬇️

Guitar details:

Neck repair - old and very stable but not cosmetically brilliant, see pics. Guitar solid as but it's not a hidden repair.

Routed for humbuckers - routes all tidy and not hack jobs.

Shugzloomz (my own) rewire (2 x 500k tvt vol pots, 2 x 500k cts premium tone pots, braid wire, Sprague Hyrel 50s PIO 0.022uf caps, 50's wiring).

Mojo Pickups PAF clones - early ones from Marc.
Old genuine vintage gold Reflectors.
Grovers.
Fatboy M69 rings.
Refret and new bone nut (6105 stainless). Gibson red lined 70s case.

Price is £2850 ovno. Not after trades or swaps. If it doesn't sell I won't be heartbroken. Slightly newer unbroken/ non messed with Deluxes are nudging 4k it seems.

Guitar located in the Glasgow area but would rather meet/ hand carry in terms of delivery but happy to work any deal as long as both parties in agreement.

Brilliant guitar that will be sadly missed if it sells but I think its time it goes. Thanks for looking, any questions just holler. Contact by PM here.

Unfortunately you didn't. You'd posted it on my wall or whatever that is. It's easy done. Definitely no PM received - your message is on my wall page or whatever it is it's called.

    Here's my reply:

    "Hi Tamas,

Thank you. WM was a while ago now but the guitar used on it is the Goldtop for sale here. Appreciate the kind words.

The neck is chunky and a really lovely thick profile unlike later ones, even '71/72 they get much thinner. The weight is around 10.2lbs.

    Best wishes

  • If I hadn’t just got Pete Honore’s old GT and Wolfetones to replace the shit ceramics in it, I’d be all over this.

Oh, my bad! It was a long time I've been here on the forum, I've become a little rusty with its functions. A chunky neck is a big plus. In my experience those that sound best from these period are definitely the ones with a meaty neck profile.

Bit of an aside, but what amp did you use for that second clip? It sounds very loud, but glorious all the same!
