Don’t Harley Benton do a double neck ?
They do, I have one, and it's surprisingly good.

Ignoring the EDS 1275, that 1977 three pickup Custom is looking more like a bargain when looking at the way prices are heading.
    *Clue, it isn't yet
I think the third pickup is a mod. I'm not sure they did any 3-pickup models then apart from the Artisan, and to me it looks like the bridge pickup has a slightly different-shaped cover (squarer corners) with different gold plating from the other two, so I suspect the original bridge pickup is now in the middle.

I had one very like it (same colour too) which that had been done to - but that's not my old guitar because the owner after me fitted some kind of trem (not a Kahler) to it that involved routing, and I can't see any evidence of a filled hole, which I think would be visible even in that pic.
Gibson were producing 3 pick up Customs in 76 and 77. They may well have been a special order at the time. A friend of mine had a 3 pick up wine red, pretty much like that one, back at that time. I still have a 76 3 pick up in ebony.

John McLaughlin had a Gibson and then got a rather ornate Rex Bogue double-neck.

The jaguar bass vi double neck I coincidentally saw earlier is the one I’d want, can’t do pics as I’m on mobile but looks good ergonomically.

Also danelectro doubles for not weighing a tonne.

There's nothing like strapping on a real doubleneck and playing the 12 string for stuff like Hotel California, Dead or alive, Wish you were here etc.

You have to learn to balance one though, it's my arm that constantly holds the thing level, if I didn't press it down like that the necks would dive down to the floor. It takes a bit of getting used to.

That one, Gibson CS  was 2K in 2009 ish ... prob worth a lot more now.

Offsets do make for a nicely balanced double-neck.

Ibanez made a guitar which was essentially a copy of the Rex Bogue, I can't find a picture of McLaughlin with it but here's Denny Laine with one.

And McLaughlin (or is it Ken Barlow?) now has a PRS doubleneck:

Going back to the 1980s, Rik Emmett had a really nice Ibanez Artist - I think this is my favourite doubleneck.  It looks like he modded it to get rid of some mini-switches and one of the volume or tone pots.

Joking aside, don't these things weigh a tonne?  I know people make a tremendous fuss about Les Pauls weighing a few ounces less than average - a slab of mahogany the size of some of these double-necks must weigh as much as a sideboard?

Yes, leaving aside the fact that I can't play 12-string guitar (or 6-string, for that matter), the sheer weight of a doubleneck would put me off ever buying one.  Also the case would be bigger than I am.

The case is handy if you have a spot of wall papering to do, or need to set up a trestle table at a cat boot sale.

I'm firmly of the belief that playing a double neck requires the user to have some sort of costume.

I was in Bath last week and had a look through the window at Vintage and Rare (they're appointment only) and they had a double neck for £4850
