Wow, Petrucci not only shaved off the beard, he had a haircut too!
Probably the second or third best-known double-neck player.
I have a double-neck Shergold Masquerader I got for £260 in 1980 - the money I'd saved for a Good Guitar, which I guess it was, but now I wish I'd got a decent normal guitar instead. I don't know what you could have got for that money, though. The 12-string, strangely, is on the bottom, so I could choose the 6-string being around my chin or the 12-string around my knees. I did play it to death, though, so I got my money's worth. And because it was really difficult getting a case for a double-neck in the early 1980s, I had to carry it without, under my arm, with one neck poking up either side of my shoulder.
One day, I'll get the 12-string bits converted to a proper single-neck 12-string. It really is an excellent jangle, especially with the Masquerader wiring (each pickup has a three-way switch that goes between humbucker, single coil or the two coils out of phase, which is pointlessly thin by itself, but mixes with the other pickup quite well).
