Anybody else given up the booze for Stoptober?

Dear Diary, my last beer / whisky / wine etc was on Sept 28th. (Apart form at the family party last week when I got shitfaced, but we don't talk about that)

 

 

 

Tonight will be the ultimate test. Friday night is take away night which means doner kebab and chips. But now with no booze? Oh mercy.

I don't drink often enough to make it worth it. In fact, I shall have to actively make an effort to clear some of the backlog in my larder. I think there are 6 bottles of Rattler from my holiday to Cornwall - in 2013.
Plus a load of Carling from, I think, last Christmas maybe..

Now, if it was chocolate or cake, we'd be in trouble.....

I gave up eating doner kebabs years ago after I stumbled downstairs to find a cold, inordinately greasy 'deconstructed' kebab in the kitchen after a night down the town on the piss. I threw up in the sink, and I've never touched one since. Now all I need is for the same to happen with booze, and all will be well in life.

I don't eat kebabs and my alcohol consumption is usually about one bottle of beer per month. I think all we have in the house is red wine ( we were given) and whiskey ( for the mother in law's tea so she goes out like a light). But, consider solidarity shown.

Now, a curry free month, that would be hard. Off to Haweli tonight ( for the benefit of @rocknrolldave ).

Ooh still don't think I've been to that one...I do miss a good curry, haven't had one in aaaaaages.

I did have a sober doner the other day though, from Neelams...Surprisingly good, despite the lack of alcohol.

Yes, I've given up booze for the month. 

I suppose that I'm a habitual drinker and there is an off license conveniently situated just over the road so I tend to have a couple of beers or few glasses wine every evening.

I'm not missing it particularly and I am sleeping better.

I don't drink much anyway, despite taking the piss out of Decker, so Stoptember is kind of pointless for me.
