It's favourites, not "best", and although I've been listening to most of these guys for decades I've tried to focus on people I still listen to a lot, which means a few old favourites haven't made the list.

I can't give a reason for each and every one, it would get repetitive... I guess I like bands where the guitar is heavily featured, and if that particular guitarist wasn't in the band any more I wouldn't like the band so much.
