    All the best fella.

Sounds like if you could do anything you would, but there's nothing to do and you're going nuts.

The C word is on TV a lot at present because of the Stand Against Cancer campaign and because these days it's a lot more common to get it AND to survive it.

The very best of luck :)
A sig-nat-eur? What am I meant to use this for ffs?! Is this thing recording?

Everywhere I look and every time I turn on the TV or radio or open a paper there is some mention of cancer and I keep thinking "fuck it's a bad omen" -

Perfectly normal reaction. My five year scan is due in December, and I still go through the same emotions as you, as does my wife.

    Best wishes.

And best of all is when the registrar passes you to the Specialist Nurse.

  • We'll having been sat wringing our hands and crapping ourselves - we turn up for the appointment, my misses gets kitted up (or actually the other way round) - only to be told that they Mis scheduled the appointment - she isn't due one until next March - which was when we remembered that "oh yeah, we had one in March this year and couldn't work out why. The consultant came in and said there always no reason to have another one, they don't like doing it any more than they have too because of the radiation - he also looked over the last scan again just to put our minds at ease.

So know we are back on track but both slightly deflated as you go back to the not knowing bit.....

Ah well - be here again in March . Thanks for all the support guys

ouch, the NHS admin staff can leave a lot to be desired sometimes. Mrs F's first appointment got lost, the second got mislaid and the registrar threw a bit of a hissy fit and almost wouldn't see her (until the admin spod admitted it was her fault for losing the paperwork). Then the MaCmillan nurse had her parents number instead of ours for some reason, which meant the cancer nurse phoned there and left a message that confused the keck out of her dad (she didn't want him knowing she had cancer till the all clear). Then the day she was booked in for the operation, they'd double booked the bed, so we almost had to go home and the surgery had taken so long (something like 8 hours!!!) all the porters had gone home and they couldn't find anyone to wheel her back to the ward. I offered to go and get her, which seemed to help them find someone then.

I'm not locked in here with you, you are locked in here with me.

Best of luck, my wife Joanne was diagnosed in April at 6 months pregnant. She's had the Chemo, had the baby, had the mastectomy and tomorrow we see her surgeon for hopefully the all clear. Luckily her Lymph glands were clear as a whistle so no secondaries although no doubt we'll have the whole waiting for it to return period like yourselves.
