It probably has now.
I know that his broadcasting often didn't get much love on here but I think his replacement highlighted how good Steve could actually be and he was a much loved figure by many R2 listeners. From conversations I've heard with him there was much music he loved, he was an old fashioned DJ in that sense rather than just a celebrity who happened to be on national radio.
This seems quite sudden, he has been broadcasting until the last couple of weeks I think.
Well, he will be missed by many. Very sad news. RIP.
anyway very sad day for his family

Really sad news Steve was one of the better 70s 80s BBC Radio DJ’s.

RIP and thanks for the memories.
And his Mick Jagger pieces were utterly bloody hilarious.
