    Chorus -> Boost -> Distortion -> Delay

Which, coincidentally, is exactly what I have on my board.

    OD

    OD > Delay

    Wah > OD > Delay

    Wah > OD > Delay > Boost

    Wah > OD > Delay > Chorus > Boost

    So the Zoom G3X then
I've still got one and still one of my favourites
I did try one - actually the more basic G3, without the wah - it was quite good. I had the bass version for a while too. Still prefer the Boss, but I could live with the Zoom.

    Tuner
    OD
    Delay

That would probably get me through. Would like tremolo as well but not essential.

A big multiFX. Just one unit, so "basic".

A good fuzz (with the guitar volume knob you can go from clean to OD to distortion to fuzz)
      Boost
      Reverb

How about just an amp with built-in FX?

     =)

Nah. Only kidding. Unless maybe that amp is a JC120?
Old, overweight and badly maintained. Unlike my amps which are just old and overweight.

  • Assuming I was using an amp with reverb and trem I’d have fuzz > tuner > phaser > tape echo.

If I was being super basic I’d be able to cope with just fuzz.

    Fractal FM3.
Oh wait, basic you say, and no brand names. Hmm - fail.

Tuner, drive, delay. (Assuming amp doesn't have a drive channel).

If I could have four, add a volume pedal.

If I could have five, add modulation.

    Tuner, drive, phaser, tremolo, reverb

In fact, I really should simplify my board to just this.

    Drive - Tremolo - Phaser - Delay - Reverb

Assuming the amp doesn’t have trem or reverb. I could replace trem and phaser with a good univibe or harmonic tremolo. I could do without delay, too, so a minimal board:

drive - harmonic tremolo - reverb

But that amp only has one sound - However what a one sound it is and very rarely do you come across a pedal that captures that sound, so well

Without naming brand names, just type, what would it be?
Is this going into a magnificent multichannel amp going all the way from shimmering cleans to Meytallll, with a boost switch and switchable reverb?

As an absolute minimum it’d be:

    Tuner
    Overdrive
    Reverb

Assuming I can have reverb from my amp and a clip-on tuner, then it would be OD, Fuzzstortion (Muffish or Ratish) and Chorus.

    How basic should it be?

    1. Fuzz
    2. Fuzz > Delay
    3. Fuzz > OD > Delay
    4. Fuzz > OD > Tremolo > Delay
    5. Fuzz > Fuzz > OD > Tremolo > Delay
    6. Fuzz > Fuzz > OD > Tremolo > Delay > Reverb

*SHO at the end of chain in every instance
