    @Offset @guitars4you - I stand corrected on both points.
I said it was a Washburn in the first place.... ;)
Yeah, we both reached for our varifocals for that one.

Apart from a bit of fun, why would anyone want a copy of a unique one off and pretty weird looking guitar?
Because it’s actually a really good guitar, very playable with a wide range of sounds.
Great. But. You're not Brian May.
What's that got to do with it?

99% of punters don't even recognise signature guitars. Not BM's not Steve Vai's floral things - none of it.

I’m so bored I might as well be listening to Pink Floyd

Didn't he play a Gibson acoustic at the Taylor Hawkins tribute show?

Multifocal contact lenses... I'll put my varifocal glasses on later. ;)  Actually I was going by the wonderbar and the headstock shape, the logo looked like Washburn but I couldn't quite read it.

You could be forgiven for thinking it was a Jackson at first glance :-)
It does look a bit like a Jackson Rhoads.  Cheap and cheerful.

I suspect both this and the Satellite were pressed into video action on the basis of ‘I don’t mind if it gets broken’.

Actually he did regularly gig a Gibson with Queen - a Chet Aktkins solid body classical for Love of my Life on the Kinda Magic Tour

Yeah, I was thinking maybe it was more likely to be about a signature acoustic

those DiMarzios were May-endorsed. They had closed covers with a "BHM" signature, and, internally, I think there was a single bar magnet rather than six separate polepieces.

    Correct.

Single ceramic bar magnet, aligned vertically. 6 or 7mm tall coil wound around the magnet. Plastic spacer piece to occupy the air gap in the lower half of the cover and grip the height adjustment screws. No structural metal parts anywhere!

Interesting pickups in their own right but no substitute for a pukka Tri-Sonic. They work rather well in a Jaguar with its slider switches rewired to allow series mode à la Johnny Marr.

Maybe, Ash of @OilCityPickups has disassembled one and can comment on the gauge of copper wire used?

the tremolo a Floyd-Rose variant from Kahler.

The vibrato bridge on the Eighties Guild BM model was a Kahler 23xx flatmount Pro model, complete with the behind-the-nut string clamp.
