PSA: Book: "Messengers, the guitars of James Hetfield" - big price drop.

Amazon now has it for £38.

I like this sort of thing so I thought I'd mention it.

Brilliant book, I treated myself to it with Christmas money when it was £60. I've got Bernie's similar book showing off his guitars, and I've found the Hetfield book much more interesting and substantial - more detail about each instrument, both specs and history, whereas Bernie's book has anecdotes but is relatively light on specifics. Stunning photos in both!

I've got Entwhistle and Geddy Lee's bass books.

They are lovely. Great notes and photos.

I've ordered the Hetfield one.

Just received mine and skimmed through. Very surprised to see he has two '59 Bursts and a 1958 Explorer and Flying V5.

Also like that there's a section for the amps.

Seems to be a high quality publication all around.

He's got more than two, between him and Kirk they've got about 12-13 bursts in total I think? Still can't believe the one with 12 on it.......

This is my first guitar “coffee table” book, and it’s great. Ive always been a fan of Hetfield’s playing, and most of Metallica’s discography. The book doesnt have a ton of fluff, dives right in and is a decent read as well as has some great photos. Thanks for the tip!

Ted Nugent used to scratch his initials on the back of his guitars too.

I wonder if they also scratch their initials in their underpants?

i'm now £119 poorer as i ended up not only ordering the james hetfield book but also the geddy lee bass book and johnny marr guitar book too as they were also on sale.

well i just had the books delivered and wow is all i can say.

am currently looking through the messengers book and it is def a great book for sure.

the geddy bass book i need to take a moment before picking it up lol it is massive (still wrapped in plastic like laura palmer atm as is the johnny marr book also).

am very glad i bought them ;-D

Is the Marr book varied or all Fenders?
