I expect to find my dream guitar in a surreal guitar shop.
I play guitar because I enjoy it rather than because I’m any good at it

Millimetric and/or Frank Brothers, based entirely on the aesthetic.

However I'd be more likely to splurge on bass guitars.

An early Stingray, a Rick 4003, and a vintage Jazz would all find happy homes in my euro millions mansion.

I'm happy with what I have tbh.

I wouldn't mind a LP special with p90s but I know it would just make me feel even more conscious of having "all the gear..."

  • I was first properly inspired to pick up a guitar watching Back To The Future as a small child, so for me it would have to be a red ES-345 with a Bigsby.

I find myself quite content now
there is a hot pink Charvel fusion on reverb I wouldn’t mind . Funnily enough I find myself in need of an acoustic. I could use a Takamine Santa Fe & a Gibson hummingbird.  & perhaps a tele aster for Keef. Open G stuff

A nice acoustic Bashkin or Olsen do like his cedar and Brazilian models on electric as we are getting into total fantasy land a Private stock slab single cu,t single pickup junior style and if it was a good lottery win perhaps a tasteful dragon inlay ha ha. Now back to sleep I must of been dreaming

I have a CNC 3D model for my dream guitar, based on a hybrid of two Yamahas - SG2000 construction with MSG body shape and neck profile.  But...with HSH pickups, Kahler trem and a Demeter mid boost.  Not sure when it will be made as I need to be clear about the construction process but the less glue up before carving, the easier it might be for me to make.

I'm not sure how I will feel about the other guitars if I ever get it made. Three MSGs (including one that is a real honey and absolute keeper at the moment), a 'Lukather tribute' Valley Arts spec strat, a Hitmaker replica, a Godin 5th Avenue jazz box and some home made stuff with various kinds of trick electronics.

I believe I would probably commission Ian Elson to build me a lovely hand-made luxury guitar  ;)

Mayones Duvell, Blackmachine B2 or B6... and that Eerie Dess Swirl Custom Shop Soloist which I believe belongs to @Nightswan :)
Too much gain... is just about enough \m/

I'm probably the only member of this forum mentioned by name in Whiskey in the Jar ;)

Same for me Elson for the win.  Or more realistically a mid 50’s S400 with Staple pickups.

I'm lucky enough to own mine.

First time I walked into a guitar shop I saw some PRS. The looked splendid. I miss read the price by a decimal place, which changes them from in budget to firmly put of budget. :/

Several years on this turned up, bought of here. :)

( Picture is previous owners. Thanks for the guitar, it's still awesome)

If money as no object I'd ring every dealer and tell them I'd pay 20% more than Joe Bonamassa just for badness. A mate of mine was in the middle of buying a five figure Fender recently when in steamed a well known vintage buyer and offered 10k more....a couple of weeks later JB posted it on Insta.
Other than that my dream guitar is always my next one......
