I'm using my Timmy has a boost pedal and it works very well, but always willing to try something better.
My head has been turned by the Vertex Boost and also the Supro boost, has anyone tried these?
Suggestions welcome for your fav boost.

Depends on what you want the boost to do, but my favourites are:

Chase Tone Secret Preamp - very little actual volume boost but great tone improver.

Magnetic Zola - High headroom clean boost with huge amount of volume available, and eq. No longer made sadly.

I also like the use a compressor with a blend knob as a boost at times.

  • It's not a fancy or 'boutiquey' sort of choice, but you'll struggle to find better than the full-size TC Spark, especially for the money.

I quite like a tubescreamer, but am also partial to an xotic rc boost.
The spark ( full sized) boost is quite good too, as is the original tc line booster driver and my peppers pedals copy and my rocket Holdsworth boost.

Liquid Sunshine is an excellent “add hair” boost.

Alembic Stratoblaster circuit (c/o Fuzzdog) is my favourite “very slight mid-hump” boost

EP Booster is my favourite “add sparkle” boost

… and Vertex can get in the bin
