    A stupid amount….

    Around 60 Dam boxes
10 or so Tym dirt boxes
    6 Thorpy
and around 30ish various fuzz/od/dist from various manufacturers.

    I think I have a problem :)

These two in particular remind me that I’m in good company on this board. I hate it when pedals sneak away & hide in boxes or cupboards. I start to feel really good that I’ve only got my 2 boards & a few others lying about  =)

I started in 2000 with a Fuzz factory and kept going. I bought the ridiculous stuff 2007/2008 before prices went mad. I've got 5 electric guitars and 4 amps so pedals it is. I've only got 3 reverb pedals but watch this space.

Maybe I’m the dirt atypical one with a grand total of …. 3

Chicago Stompworks Mr Vermin - RAT
    Lovepedal OD11 - kinda Timmy
Fuzzdog Bluesbreaker tweaked by me - probs my fave

Perennially disappointed by dirt pedals but would like to try a Nordland ODR one day

oh, tell I lie I also have Blackstar HT- Dual which is a direct to power amp backup kind of thing

This is the truth from hillbilly guitars!

I don't have a "collection" as I'm not the collector type. My gigging pedalboard has the following dirt pedals, which do pretty much everything I need:

    Fuzz Face Mini Germanium
Crowther Hot Cake clone. which I built from a kit and preferred to the real thing which I sold
    Paul Cochrane Timmy V3
    EHX LPB-1

Occasionally I buy something different, find I don't need it, and sell it on.

Unless you need lots of subtlely different flavours of dirt, say for a recording setup, I would consider more than 6 dirt pedals to be excessive.

We're all different and there's no right or wrong.

Not as many as some, no doubt. And no real high end collections. A couple of distortions, ten or so ODs and, er, dozens of fuzz pedals. They are mostly budget and mostly different from each other so that's something I guess?
Ten years too late and still getting it wrong

You're too humble. You're the only person so far to use the word "dozens" to quantify the number of one type of dirt pedal that you own =)

"1" seems to be the abnormal number
In that case I have an abnormal number of overdrives - a Catalinbread Formula 55. To be honest I could live perfectly well without it and let the amp and the  guitar’s volume control do the work.
I play guitar because I enjoy it rather than because I’m any good at it

I might have one or two more hiding somewhere, but:

    - Way Huge Chalky (Saucy) Box
    - Way Huge (Red) Geisha Drive
    - Warm Audio Centavo
    - Orange Amps Fur Coat
    - Behringer SF-300
    - Boss DS-1 40th Anniv.
    - ProCo RAT2 (1989)
    - ProCo RAT2 (1992)
    - Digitech Bad Monkey
    - Funny Little Boxes Skeleton Key

9’s acceptable, methinks? There’s only 3 on my board though… mrgreen

    *edit* 10 - I forgot one

I have a spreadsheet with tabs for guitars, amps, pedals, pickups, neck dimensions, all sorts…

i thought maybe peppers wouldn’t want to see that but maybe I was wrong! :D
