I have to say, I prefer American culture and society to ours, although granted the extremes are greater than our moderated society.
They are raised to be responsible, speak up for themselves, have confidence and take personal responsibility, otherwise nothing will be done, although I admit, they do have mothers on welfare problems too. We are raised to be quiet and do as we are told or fetch someone in a position of responsibility to do it for us and on no account talk to strangers..
If you work hard over there and show initiative you can still make money. There is a massive two tier divide in wages here, you can only really expect a decent quality of life through speculation, which isn't exactly an honest or moral living.
They still respect manual and skilled collar workers.
They respect the fact that you have tried your best, even of you fail, you win their admiration.
They speak to you as a friendly bunch, if they decide they don't like you they won't speak to you again. Her it is the opposite.
They work hard but enjoy themselves more.
They do have glass ceilings too, but the space and the history of frontier colonisation, combined with wild animals that can eat you, severe temperatures that can kill you, a local council that has run out of money four years ago and continued under investment, unless the people raise the cash, and other forms of local and accountable direct private donations to the police and fire services for example, together a sun higher in the sky means they take more personal responsibility.
They can drive big cars.
They can shoot guns.
They can shoot burglars and crackheads reaching through your letterbox.
And they can drive jacked up pickup trucks.
And they have space.
The nearest thing to Americans in our culture are Pikies and Etonians unfortunately. The rest of us are quiet plebs who don't grumble and stick our heads in the sand, slaving our entire life for a miserable existence, our only pleasure, backstabbing our families and neighbours and getting wasted on a Friday night and posting pathetic posts like this on the interweb.
I think the thing thag slightly grates me with these radicals, be it conspiracy theorists, armchair blog analysts or part of revolutionary groups is that they have never sat on a committee. Once they realise that it is IMPOSSIBLE to even get 8 people with a similar motivations to agree on a consensus, they might have half a clue.
They also draw on everything society has to offer them whilst making their judgements on how bad society is. Now if they could think and blog the same things whilst under fire, with a shrapnel wound and a 3 day empty stomach I would be more impressed.
Anyway, that is my responsible side, I still agree with them though.
I'd like to see more transparent accountability and mandatory civil or armed services personally, kind of like a Jewish Kibbutz style thing, then people might have half a clue about what they are talking about and take more personal responsibility.
As it is we have twats that have smooth hands making decisions about the costs of people who graft and ideological nouveux riche nutters on the local council who think that their style of gestapo enforced townie beautification is the latest concept in modern socialist thinking
Unfortunately social mobility is at an all time low and we do live in a society where both halves have no concept of how the other half live or toil and the people, who this should be all about, have been forgotten through ideologically thinking movements from both sides.

So what about Miss Piggy and Gonzo? Where do they fit in, or are they lizards too? Or are they part of his vet training?

Love to be a fly on the wall there.
Don't get me wrong, Ickey does have some good points to make about stuff like the advertising industry manipulating what people are supposed to think they want, and governments being two-faced lying toerags. But, and it's a big but (fnarr!), once he gets into the lizard people and Matrix style "reality is a holographic projection", I reserve the right to say he's bat-shit cray-cray.
Perfectly entitled to have his opinions and voice them, but in his own words "Couldn't give a shit mate!"
