Same here, after living in Holland, where they only leave the bag in for seconds and share 1 bag around, I need strong tea!

Today I learned being right about something can suck.

Driving into work there was a young lad on a little 125 (I assume) bike. He was riding like a cock. I thought "shit, carry on riding like that you'll have a smack", about 4 miles further up, there he was lying by the side of the road, with police and paramedics sorting him out, and his bike smashed.

 

I hate being right sometimes.

H certainly wasn't worried about undertaking on the A14, and cutting up other vehicles.

A colleague of my sister had the surgery a few years ago, it went really wrong for her.

She ended up off work for (IIRC) around 6 months.

I'm sure I've told this tale, but when mrs f first went to her GP with her abdominal pains, the GP thought she might be pregnant. Many a sleepless night was spent until it was confirmed she wasn't and it was merely a tumour the size of a grapefruit. Cancer can be cured, a child is for life.

TIL (well, actually on Thursday, when I was showing some colleagues at work pictures I took of the Rockefeller Center ice skating rink), that the machine used to smooth the ice is called a ZAMBONI.

I remember going ice skating to Richmond Ice Rink as a kid in London and I was absolutely fascinated with the Zamboni machine.  I'd make my mum hang around until drove out onto the ice.

The Zamboni house was the black square on the right...

Alas, they tore it all down in 1992 =((
