Pretty much any film on Syfy.

    Classics such as...

    Sharktopus
    Mega Shark vs Crocosaurus

Sharktopus is brilliant. Pick of the SyFy shark films for me.
On the subject of SyFy, look out for this:

    So bad it's very bad.

  • The classic "best worst film" is, of course, Plan 9 from Outer Space. Here are the top ten clunkers from the film which include a different actor playing a main part after the original died, appalling dubbing and the worst airport cockpit you have ever seen:

Pacific Rim was awful and tremendous. So many nods to iconic films of my youth, all wrapped up in nonsense robots.
    That it was!!

  • I caught a couple of B movies over the Xmas period and realised just how much I love them. I mean proper B movies, not these deliberately poor ones like Sharknado and the like.

The first one was Bloody Pit of Horror, featuring the Crimson Executioner. It's hilariously atrocious.
Another was Snow Beast, which was quite well made and the plot wasn't too bad but the script and effects were laughable.
Oh, and Death Car on the Freeway is genius. It ends with an exploding van, which fortunately kills the Highway Fiddler - a psychopathic van driver who runs females off the highway in his van whilst listening to bluegrass fiddle music.

I've set myself a mission to watch loads of B movies this year.

    Best worst film....

Almost every Michael Bay film.  They are so bad but so much eye candy and a rollercoaster for your senses.

Handy Hint: save money on going to the cinema to see the latest Michael Bay film by turning your stereo up to max and waving sparklers in front of your eyes for 90 minutes.
Shot through the heart, and you’re to blame, you give love a bad name. Not to mention archery tuition.

Good call.  I should hate it because the original is very, very close indeed to being my favourite film of all time, but the remake is so awful it's amazing.

Changing the subject completely, I'd like to nominate Showgirls.

And although I'm a big fan of his earlier work, Dario Argento's recent efforts like Giallo and Dracula 3D are almost beyond belief (best seen with an audience for comedy value - otherwise they're just depressing).

Battleship really is a stinking pile of poo......but the scene where they're actually playing battleship for real ("It's a miss" etc) is pure genius....well actually it's not pure genius at all, but that must have been the scene that the entire movie is built around so I always imagine the thought process and the pitch that went from that little idea to an actual movie being made, that's the real genius of the film.

the kids were watching it and started shouting me to watch that scene. It's 'really, really, is this is what is happening here.' :-B Yes, both totally crap and completely engaging, not sure I could have managed the whole film though.
(I hope I've done the spoiler bit correct here just incase anyone wants to watch this turkey...

There's a brilliant bit near the end with all the crinkly old vets stand up and volunteer to take on the aliens, somehow making the floating museum of the USS Missouri sea worthy and armed in minutes.

when Showgirls comes on the telly I always think the sheer nipple count will overcome the travesty of the movie and if I don't engage all of my brain it will be watchable. But it isn't. It is just awful.

Troll 2. It even spawned its own documentary named "best worst film". It's absolutely appalling, but not in the cynical Michael bay way. More in the ed wood plan 9 way where you can tell they were really trying.

Also Foodfight! It's got a weird story behind it. Basically when the first toy story movie came out some one had the idea of doing a rip off but with serial mascots. Due to mis manage ment it took about eight years, bankrupted everyone involved and looks like vomit. It is honestly one of the most surreal and shitty movies I have ever seen.

I think Troll 2 (No affiliation to Troll-there is no Troll 1 in the case of this film) comes first regularly in 'worst best films'polls, there's a documentary on it on Netflix I think, which is a good watch. I'd throw The Room into the hat too, well worth a watch-scenes are in there for absolutely no apparent reason or explanation.

Both of these films get re-shown at festivals and people have Troll 2 and Room parties, there's all kinds of 'rules' you have to adhere to (ie throwing a spoon at the screen every time a spoon is on screen) if you're a massive fan.
