Just an update for those that followed the original thread here!

The singer/guitarist restored my faith in the end.  He tweeted me to say he agreed with one point I made and thanked me for the debate. 

Surprised by that but as he could have ignored me.  Goes to show, there are some decent people in the music business afteral.

I'm continually amazed by the whole notion of twitter and how dangerous it potentially is for public perception. A bad tweet is ultimately pretty meaningless in the real life context of the kind of shit people say without thinking or among friends, but it can absolutely ruin you if you're a public figure.
