Like, it reminds you of them.

I'm sure we ALL have

I have 2- one still isn't played- the other HAS to be played purely because it's one of the finest songs Neil Finn every wrote, which by definition means it's one of the finest songs ever

Distant Sun (now allowed to be played)- oh that outro....stunning

Not really.  Music is more important to me than women and women always have poor taste in music.

Yeah I used to love Knockin on Heaven's Door until I went out with Axl Rose briefly.
Roland said: Scales are primarily a tool for categorising knowledge, not a rule for what can or cannot be played.
Supportact said: [my style is] probably more an accumulation of limitations and bad habits than a 'style'.

  • There's a few for me. Lola, Funky Cold Medina and Dude Looks Like A Lady. It may have ruined the songs but on the plus side it saved me spending out on another trip back to Thailand.

I no longer listen to the Cure because it reminds me of my ex-gf.
I won't leave the room if it comes on or anything like that. ;)

Was it Lucy or Lisa.... I forget.

I’m so bored I might as well be listening to Pink Floyd

In all seriousness... I've never had a song with anybody. I don't get it. Seems like lame shit from a dodgy romance novel to me.

    No.
But I think naming your guitar after your significant other is a very bad idea (for the same/similar reason).
BB King had the right idea.

Not by an ex but my brother. He screwed my family over massively when my Dad died and still can't listen to a few songs from our youth without wanting to find him and inflict immense amounts of pain on him.

Fingers of Love by Crowded House reminds me of my Nan.

First song I ever heard after she'd died- she was very into nature- the words sum her up

    Can you imagine that
An itch too sensitive to scratch
The light that falls through the cracks
An insect too delicate to catch
    I hear the endless murmur
Every blade of grass that shivers in the breeze
And the sound that comes to carry me
Across the land and over the sea

    And I can't look up
    Fingers of love move down
    And I can't look back
    Fingers of love move down

    Colour is its own reward
    Colour is its own reward
The chiming of a perfect chord
    Let's go jumping overboard
Into waves of joy and clarity
Your hands come out to rescue me
And I'm playing in the shallow water
Laughing while the mad dog sleeps

    And I can't look up
    Fingers of love move down
    And I won't be hit
    Fingers of love move everywhere

    There is time yet
    Fall by the way
From the cradle to the grave
From a palace to the gutter
Beneath the dying waves of the sun
    Lie fingers of love

Through waves of joy and clarity
A fallen angel walked on the sea
And I'm playing in the shallow water
Laughing while the mad dog sleeps

    And I can't look up
    Fingers of love move down
    And I won't be hit
    Fingers of love move everywhere

    There is time yet
    For you to find me
    And all I want
    Fingers of love move down

I used to love this song.  It warmed me heart to know that she cared as much for me as I did for her. Life felt complete.  Two halves were finally one.  Every time the song came on the radio we'd stare for what seemed like an eternity into each others eyes.  Many a fond memory of coming home to a candlelit dinner, with candles in the bathroom, lit up with the lights deemed like something angel sent, with this song on the 33.  Good times.  We were a match made in heaven.  Why we went our separate ways I'II never know.  The song still brings a tear to my heart to this day
