Not an ex, but I wanted to do 'Don't Stop Believing' in the band and was halfway through learning the solo when those twats 'Glee' released it.  That killed it.

I found it was much quicker than that.  Once you force yourself to move upwards and onwards and it slowly dawns on you that what you had was pretty shit actually, it turns from anger and hatred to pity and relief.  Pity them for being the inadequate person they are and relief that you're out of it.

No, this is another of those things I don't get... My songs remind me of stuff but not other peoples. Even then the tie is not that great.

Maybe it's because I don't really play things over and over. When I buy new stuff it's added to the play list and forever remains on random.

My Ex was so bad that as Emp_fab says, it was relief rather than sadness. In my case it was pretty much a month of self pity then over it.
"Our song" was Telegraph Road - Dire Straits. I don't listen to it often, but when I do I still love it as much as I did before.

I'm not sure she even liked it. She lied about her music taste to try and make me like her ffs! She's a club music fan now I think, and I suspect she was the whole time which helps I guess.
