Dear god you're quick off the mark.

Not that me being beat to the punch is in any way comparable to the big man passing away.

    Seemed a lovely fella, too.

Oh man that's really sad news. One of the all time greats. I saw him play live back in the early 80s and he was a consummate showman.
Rest In Peace BB and thank you for all the great music you gave the world and the inspiration you gave to so many us guitar players.
It truly is the end of an era

:( was expected, but still bad news. When I was a kid and just started learning guitar my dad bought me these magazines called the blues collection, each came with a free CD. Issue 1 & 2 were John Lee Hooker and BB King - been hooked on guitar ever since :)

    RIP BB

I cannot put enough words paper about how this great man has affected my life and the way I try and play guitar. Boy it's a sad day and it's only just started. :(

Really sad - there was a very lengthy BBC4 documentary about him a couple of years ago. He came across as just a wonderful human being - full of warmth, with a gentle humour - and bags of dignity. He probably could justifiably lay claim to having been the hardest working man in show business.

RIP BB - you did the best thing any human being can do - you made the world a better place by being in it.

The thrill is not gone !

I hope my legacy is a small fraction of what this great player has left behind him.

    Long live the king.

Oh :( can't believe this came so fast after last news, absolute legend in every sense of the word. His kind will never been seen again, another part of the guitar world dies with very little new to replace it.

    RIP big man.

Really sad news. Massive influence on pretty much every blues player since the 60s. So many of his licks are part of the rock and roll vocabulary. Lovely sound, lovely vibrato. Always seemed a genuine, humble, warm guy as well.

Personal faves are those late 60s early 70s albums where it gets a bit funky and he does stuff like Hummingbird and You Better Not Look Down.

Not unexpected but still very sad. An amazing man in many respects. RIP BB.
