Is a sad day indeed...

You know I was only thinking last night when was catching up on the two week old Paul Jones R&B Radio 2 prog, when he played a Clapton BB King song, that THEY won't be here for much longer - what with Clapton at 70 also!  - I bet Clapton never expected to be a pensioner at the same time as BB !

(Just glad I traded my Lucille...) -   NO(!)  - Am actually really sorry for this news... The Thrill is now certainly Gone....

Poor bloke, very sad he's not still with us but at least his music lives on and is still accessible to any up and coming players to learn from. Like many of us did, whether we realised it or not.

Saw him play a smallish venue in Paris in 1994 - the place was packed, and he was awsome....

Gutted I never got to see him live. The documentary 'The Life Of Riley' is a must watch. He had a really tough life, a very inspirational guy. There's another one for the great gig in the sky. RIP

I saw him live around 10 years ago at the Albert Hall.  His voice was a bit scratchy but the guitar playing was still good.

Always came across as being totally without airs and graces, although he couldn't have lasted as long as he did without some steel behind the smile.

A huge figure in 20th century music.
