Owned a Mike Campbell Starplayer for a short time, sold it to buy a Gibson 335 Luther Dickinson. Best move ever... The starplayer wasn't terrible, in several ways quite nice, but wasn't for me.

I had a black & white rocket II, sounded great, played really well but I got it cheap and I should know by now that I hate V's.

It was really well made too, but I seem to remember they're Far East parts put together in the Fatherland, but if it's good enough for PRS S2's...

There's nowt wrong with them at all. I've been looking at their Starplayers. Has to be glittery and have gold hardware and a bigsby.

The wooden parts of Duesenbergs are made in Korea and the guitars are assembled in Germany.

PRS S2s - which are about the same price - are manufactured entirely in the USA factory with pick-ups and some other items of hardware made off-shore.

Made in the same place as Reverend guitars and PRS SE. Reverend guitars are cheaper. Reverends guitars are cooler. Reverend Reverend Reverend.

Yep, got a starplayer goldtop.  Really well made, stays in tune, great Bigsby-but-better trem, plec'd etc etc.  Pickups were not to my taste, but not many are.

Shades of deja vu about this thread. Bought the Carl Carlton after watching Robbie McIntosh play one on John Mayer's Slow Dancing In A Burning Room. Typically Teutonic - well built but a bit lacking in character. Someone above has educated me about them sharing manufacture with PRS SE - that explains everything. Reverend are cooler and better

I own a doublecat, and rate it very very high the star players are also superb choice

Caribou is superb, if I didn't have the double cat I'd buy one now, the shape looks awkward,. but it's really easy to play

I had a star player TV special, it won't that special to be honest. It felt cheap to me but played well. I got it for £300 so I did ok when it came to moving it on

Totally agree, but then I'm far closer to Unknown Hinson than I am to P+W on the guitar playing (and everything else) spectrum.

Made in Korea and probably checked in Korea. As mentioned earlier the whole Duesenberg thing is very cloak and dagger.
