With summer coming, balmy sunny day, lazy drive, top down, windows open, music on 11

What's your best music fix ?

What's the single best driving song ever ?

To get the party started, here is my contender ~ all the way from 1973 ~ I give you RADAR LOVE from Golden Earring...

Duration 5:03

There's nothing like an appreciative audience, and that is nothing like an appreciative audience, don't you just love the music business ?

Mr Petty takes the stange for the ultimate driving song....

Then the Boss of course, especially that bit at 3:30

    One, two, three, four!

The highway's jammed with broken heroes on a last chance power drive
Everybody's out on the run tonight

Top Gear did this a few years back and Highway Star won - hell knows why is pants...

And anyway - this should be in the Music section...

My old drummer was obsessed with Radar Love. Bloody awful song.

In any case, the best driving songs are pretty much all by Queen:

    One Vision
    Hammer to Fall
    Seven Seas of Rhye
    Now I'm Here
    Tie Your Mother Down
    Under Pressure
    I Want It All

Hey @57Deluxe, is that the reverse logic, "well I'll tell you what it isn't" ?  You must have a favourite , surely ?

Oh, yeah, this is on it's way to the music section.  Just on a lazy summer's drive via the more populated Guitar section, first stop.
    Life's a journey, chill      :D

Goldern Earring, first band I saw live at Brum Town Hall in 1974, and a good call

How's about Thin Lizzy - The Boy's are Back In Town

I used to love driving to Lamb Of God bit it makes you drive like a loon.

Nowadays,on a hot summers day, something like The Stone Roses first album pretty much nails it.

Some great stuff so far, keep your favourites coming, YT video's very welcome especially...
    Thanks all  :)

Enjoyed Kansas, thanks for posting @57Deluxe.  Chilled drive indeed.  Spectacular lighting rig they have too.

Definitely great driving songs there @not_the_dj, loved the TP video too.

Doesn't matter what anyone else likes @mike_l, this is open for *your* personal choice of music.

This is to reflect what the forum likes, in all it's many colours, *our* individual and collective tastes.
Hopefully we'll get a pretty varied playlist by the time summer arrives for real   :D

  • Anything by Clutch ( ;) ), no seriously... Earth Rocker, Crucial Velocity, Electric Worry... all AWESOME!

Failing that, No One Knows by Queens of The Stone Age.

    Radio 4 mostly.

Sorry, but sometimes I have to take a break from Living The RnR Dream.
