Great to see a Waterboys suggestion. I'll add the version of Medicine Bow that's on the "Secret Life..." album.

On a hot day with the top down, you could do with Boston-Don't Look Back.

Or just stick on the first 2 Boston albums or maybe some Journey.

But if you want to be picky you could also choose Dave Dudley or George Thorogood

But to me that ain't driving music - country just does it - Rodney Crowell, Dwight Yoakam, and, as good as my first choice, Guitar Town by Steve Earl.

Life In The Fast Lane by The Eagles

Stick that on with the window down and a pair of aviators on, then pretend youve got Stevie Nicks next to you in the passenger seat, a gramme of cocaine in the glove compartment and your Ford Focus is a Corvette

I went to the 1990 winter NAMM show and we hired a Thunderbird while we were there (a fairly dull modern coupe - but with a highly evocative name).

Free Fallin' by Tom Petty was on the radio almost constantly it seemed. The perfect song for driving around LA to....

Telegraph Road - Dire Straits. It starts off nice and slow but as the solo builds I can't help putting my foot down. Gimme All Your Lovin' - ZZ Top is another one that gets the pedal to the floor.

Now that I drive an electric car, John Cage's 4'33 is pretty appropriate. Stealth mode on!

Wouldn't something by AC/DC be more appropriate?

I'm still learning so I've never driven on my own, or with music on.

If I was though, I wouldn't bother thinking about driving music, I'd just put a bunch of albums in the car that I love and want to listen to.

The answer to the question, though, is the Wildhearts. I'm thinking particularly this album, for some reason.

Yeah, a bit of High Voltage would go down well.
