So just gotta finish it and get a nut. Exciting.

But hey, I've done this plenty of times before and it always turns out great. I guess I'm nervous as I've never worked with binding before!
However, the next pics on this thread should be my semi completed guitar, maybe in a week or two.
The f holes are okay, but it turns out they needed more sanding work so look a bit rough. Better than some unbound Gibson ones I've seen, mind, but not fantastic. Hoping I can iron that out without a refin, though.
It's curing, and then when I'm back home Monday I'll see if I can wire wool or even micro mesh the dust and dirt out. Dings I'm not fussed - actually, a first light relic project could be very exciting.
I forgot to check the top to ensure its not cracked... Should be okay though. Guitars do get dinged from time to time, just as well it wasn't full weight with hardware!
If I can't remove the dust, dad will buy a new finish kit and I'll see if he'll contribute to a small hand held drum sander type thing, which should make sanding the cutaways less of a ball ache.
I'm hoping it's salvageable though, because the colour is rather nice. I like how wudtone, even when slathered on quite thickly (as is the case with mine) is still super thin and let's the wood show through, with different grain taking different amounts of finish.
If it's shit, I'll get the mouse sander out and just blast it off with 60 grit.
Seriously though, sanding it off and going again shouldn't be too painful, should it?

I've actually ordered some micro mesh, I'm hoping I can remove the nasties without ruining the finish beyond repair, then going on as normal. Here's hoping! The dings are not awful, all my guitars get beaten to hell anyway. The hardware is all nickel so will age soon, I may speed that up a touch but we'll see.
