I shall give this some thought. But one that springs to mind is the arrival of the distorted guitar before the chorus on Radiohead's "Creep".

    CHA-CHUNK.

If we're talking single moments, then 3:28 during Magic Bus from Live At Leeds is it.

It just all comes together - boom!   Sonic heaven.....

The 1812 Overture when the cannons come in, and from non classical Jan Ackerman playing Sylvia on Live at the Rainbow, the bit where he hits the most horrendous bum note.
The 1812 cannons are a good choice. Too many great moments to list, and lots need the context to really work. Some picked at random:
The moment towards the end of Jupiter (Holst) where the central theme reappears briefly then becomes something joyful.
Achilles Last Stand, Bonzo's triplets crash in again after "know the way, know the way". Or maybe earlier where they do the same during Page's solo.
(Basically anywhere well timed percussion breaks in...)
And less bombastically, Corpus Christi Carol from Grace, the final few guitar notes while Jeff Buckley holds that final note is spine tingling.
Lastly (for the moment...) that bit in Handel's Messiah with a sufficiently large choir where the Hallelujah actually knocks you back.

He did, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/4′33″#4.E2.80.B233.E2.80.B3_No._2 He also created this:
if the bit where the guy snaps the grasses isn't one of the greatest moments in music then... I'm sure there are others.

The bit in Springsteens Born to Run where there's a mid song breakdown then a "123" and he comes back in with the line "the highways jammed with broken heroes on a last chance power drive"

Also a very good call, have a Wisdom ;)

Another Queensryche one from me - the bit where Chris De Garmo comes back in during the solo, 3:12 - 3:15:

I've no idea why. It just grabbed me when I first heard it, and it's stuck with me ever since.

Also: funny hair and cheesy slow-mo bits. Hilarious.

The most incredible musical event ever for me I think is the climax of Rachmaninov's 3rd piano concerto, right at the very top of the climax when the trumpets come out in unison. Wait I'll find it. Ok. It's at 41:12, but you really need to listen from 40:30 to get the full effect. Captivating isn't it?

Oh. My. God.  That was incredible.  Thankyou !!!

Sublime eh. Love the way her right hand flops over the piano stool after the last note, like a seal's foot (flipper?) because she's so spent.
