Do we have enough people interested in synth to have a synth section?

Well em as above really?
I bloody love synths, I have a novation mininova and bass station 2, plus a roland tr 8, and a korg wave drum.
Not to mention countless synth vsts.

Anyone else love synth and feel this place could benefit from a synth section?

KS Rack - jump in and twiddle

I sell them but have no idea about them. We did a huge launch of some new ones recently and all I could do was stand there and enjoy the show. Hadn't a scooby what they were talking about. I should probably start learning eh!

I'd recommend the KS rack for learning about subtractive synthesis. It's laid out in such a clear way: 3 OSC's > Mixer > Filter > LFO's > Effects and has that lovely Novation liquid sound. The Pro 1 through an analogue delay is just the greatest thing. If I could find / afford an OSCar though.........hmmmm.

I don't own any hardware synths but I do like vst's. I used to have a Wasp. It's probably a hangover from the space rock days of yore but count me in as interested.

I predict that if we end up with a synth section, eventually I'll end up owning more synths.

The EDP WASP was a Chris Hugget design, which lead to OSCar and eventually to the Novation line (Bass station / Supernova's etc...)

I'm pretty terrible on keys, but for some reason I've always loved messing around with synths, particularly old analogue ones with hundreds of sliders and knobs.

Sadly, I only have an M-Audio Oxygen and a pile of VST synths to fiddle with these days.

I'd like a Synth section, but I worry it would be a ghost town.

There doesn't seem to be anywhere like this site for Synthy types so it might take off if we launched it.

SNII is probably the most complete VA synth ever made. 8 part multitimbral, full midi implementation and lush sounding. It's so good, Ed Ozric uses one as his main instrument.
