Looking forward to this.  I find reading details of others recording process is almost always helpful.  People share build threads around here for that sort of reason but there is a definite shortage of threads of this kind.

I'm actually looking forward to this too. I've just signed up to that Coursera Ableton Live course cos it's what I have but I really want to gain as much knowledge on this subject as possible.

Do you need any help with this thread at all? I have extensive recording experience, with hardware and software, Cubase, Vsts, if thats any good for you?

I'll be interested to read about bass and drum EQs as I have no clue about these.

Very interested also, had the album on in my car for 2 weeks straight so far.

Can I make a request? 

Would love to have a format where maybe you play a snippet of raw stems for a part, then talk about how you recorded / processed, then hear that snippet in isolation with processing applied, then finally the same snippet in the mix. (Especially for bass and drums)
