I'm making a set neck tele special

What's Hot
DanielsguitarsDanielsguitars Frets: 3310
Right here's the plan, set neck tele with lp control layout 2 mojo pickups p90's.
Body and neck is limba, fretboard is figured madagascan rosewood.
It's having a schaller signum wraptail bridge and schaller open gear grand tunes with rosewood buttons
I've already cut the body and neck out, it's having our own angled headstock, same as the strat we've just done, you can see it in made in uk thread.
2 way truss rod and 50's style lp carved neck
I'll see if i want binding on the body and i'll probably contour the body and neck so it's more comfortable.

Here's the fretboard, i already cut the fret slots for 25.5 scale length but 22 frets with a 12 inch radius.
I cut some ebony dots for it too then i bound it with the madagscan rosewood, which i'll show next time

    Ditto!

    I'm going to enjoy this!
so if you fancy a reissue of a guitar they never made in a colour they never used then it probably isn't too overpriced.

If it comes out as good as that strat it'll be good. Do you think I should put a cap on it, I just cut some really nice black limba which would look good What about body binding? I fancy doing a red burst on the front and just a red back and neck, it'll be light red as I want all the grain to show.

Looking good already! Pretty dark dots, I'll be interested to see how they look at the end.

I'm not usually a fan of tops on Tele shapes, but I could be convinced. I'm OK with binding, though. And red. I like red!

I'll be updating next week with pics, I've been working out layout and controls and making templates for the pin router.
I did the p90 template today.
The body already has the switch cavity done and the mortice is mostly done but not full depth, i need the bridge to work out height.

The templates are so we can use these for the 2 f hole thinline we did or a solid body version, you can see the thinline pic in made in uk.
I got a quick demo of it today so that'll go up next week hopefully.

I don't think i'm having a cap now, it depends how light i want it, if it's heavy i'll chamber it and put a cap on.

Prefer the first to the second, but I'm more of a 'plain wood' kinda guy, generally.. Different colours can help sometimes, though..

Well I love a burst and that's what he wanted plus headstock and back of neck.
It doesn't look that dark when it was finished but I really liked it.

Here's the templates I made for the pin router, they can also be used for a the 2 f hole model we made,
thats why the controls are where they are.
I made the p90 routes both sides so i can easily do left handed.

I got the mortice routed out but not full depth, i'm waiting to get the bridge so i can alter the angle so it sits
    flat on the body.

Next week i'll fit the tenon and work out an angle i need so i can get the neck fitted.
Fret the fingerboard then do the p90 routes.
I'll get the headstock veneer on and shape it then drill tuner holes, it's coming along nicely.
The limba is a really nice weight.
