Lamb of the sky would have to be pigeon because they're both nice served pink and with a red wine "jus", and also both look like they would make nice cuddly pets but in reality wouldn't actually be very cuddly and would probably smell a bit.

Even the notion is ridiculous. You might as well ask for the squirrel of the hinterlands.

I did notice that a Sea cucumber of the land booked a chalet with a chocolate starfish at Centre Parcs.

You know that "google bubble" thing people were all uppity about a couple of years ago? I did that. I give so much to the inferweb, and ask so little in return.

I should point out, though, that the Google answers may not be correct.

I've been musing about this all night and I believe that I have been underthinking thus far. There is more subtlety at work here than initially supposed.

"Chicken of the sea" is phonetic. It's actually "chicken of the C" with "C" being century. So the greatest chicken of either the last hundred years or this calendar century. If it's the former it's Foghorn Leghorn. There doesn't appear to have been any famous chickens in the last 16 years so it has to be FL.

"Lamb of the sky" is obviously referring to the Isle of Skye and a quick bit of research shows that there was a lamb famously adopted by Jess the Dog in May. See here: http://www.scotsman.com/regions/inverness-highlands-islands/isle-of-skye-lamb-adopted-by-dog-1-4117252

"See cucumber of the land" is clever because it doesn't use "sea" as "C", it uses it as "see". A cucumber that grows in the land...and helps you see...a carrot, of course!!

    What's the prize?

This is some very insightful work.

I am wondering if you have neglected to consider the hyphen in sea-cucumber? Just wondering.
