4.52am: A Free Weekly Guitar & Music Magazine - Please Spread the word chaps :)

What's Hot
JookyChapJookyChap Frets: 4234

I know this is perhaps the worstest of worst kept secrets, but we have finally announced that our Print-only magazine Guitar Quarterly, will have a 'companion' web-based magazine to be known as 4.52am.

This is quite different - it is entirely web-based, will be published Weekly (at 4.52am on Sunday morning) and will be Free.

Yep, Nada, Nowt and Zilch

It is a mix of Boutique and Vintage Guitar Gear & some nice music, with very little Blues and Classic Rock.

We'll also have some cool music from these very shores, and as we are very much concentrating on UK Luthiers, Amp & Effect builders and everything else, there will be some new and familiar faces.

We're really aiming for it to be old school NME/Melody Maker meets Guitarist, when all these things were good.

Anyway, there is a blog post HERE and a list of what is in the first magazine HERE  and all are welcome.

Sorry for this Spamfest, but if you can spread the word, it would be lovely that.

4.52am launches at 4.52am on 25th September 2016

GQ launches 15 January 2017

Cheers M'dears

The Microdance picked a fine time to split up then!
My wife asked me to stop singing Wonderwall.

Yes, sadly the original mock-up of the cover was cursed - there were two bands who split up (although Alex is carrying-on with Microdance as a solo thing, I believe) and then the awful news that the luthier we were originally going to be covering in issue one had passed away.

We have an around the clock watch on @ThorpyFX, just to be on the safe side

I've just had another look at the GQ website.

    (a) there's a lot of content in there - that's taken some time & thought.
    (b) there's some clever design in there - that's taken some cleverness.

So, based on that, I can confidently predict that the age of Guitarist is over.  Now is the age of GQ.

    ;)

    Good stuff Mr Jooky.

Just to be clear, The Microdance lives on - with two major differences: firstly, there will be lots more music; the four piece live element of the band was a frustrating inhibitor on our productivity - and so we only put out about 10% of what I wrote. It's an exciting time; I just have to figure out how to get some of the wildly different stuff out there without confusing people too much! Secondly, foe the time being, there is no live band - but that will come back around!  Gav will be greatly missed but I am more than capable of going alone - something I have done many a time before
