Classic vibe Tele. Boss Katana 50w.
    CV Tele £398, BK 50 £165, total circa £563.

Guys, c'mon!  The OP specifically said

:"The budget would be £400-500 max for guitar and amp. It's imperative the amp has a headphone jack due to the time of day I get to play and my consideration for neighbours, and others in the house! "

So recommending gear outside his budget or an amp that has no headphone socket (e.g. the valve Laney Cub that Blueskunk recommended) really isn't helping him.   ;)

I started out with nothing..... but I've still got most of it left (Seasick Steve)

Well that's scuppered my suggestion of a Custom Shop Telecaster and a vintage AC30 then.

    Spoilsport.

    Ok so update time....

At midnight last night an ad appeared on Gumtree for a Squier Affinity Strat for £20(!) as it had some 'battle scars'. I took a punt and picked it up (the lady said that at 9am she woke up to 27 texts and emails about it but mine was the first!)

Left it with a chap who used to give me lessons to let me know if it's worth cleaning up and restringing etc.

Still in the market for a Pacifica as a better stop gap until next year when I can pick up
something more serious but thought this would be a fun little diversion, even if it's just for taking apart and getting to know my way around an electric!

You've got a great buy there! Any decisions on the amp front?

    Yeah I reckon so!

THR10 looks ace if I can find a used one for £150ish I'd be sorely tempted
