Music from Big Pink. Fantastic songwriting and musicianship. What a record.

  • Just stuck on the new Jeff Beck album.
Been curious for a while but not prepared for the complete mind-fuck it is! But I mean that in a good way... mostly. It's like "what the fuck did I just listen to?!", but at the same time it has some pretty sweet guitar work, and at the same time it's like "woah I would never listen to this shit but I kinda like it!"

Back on a Wolf Alice trip right now. Whilst our indie heroes of old release utter drivel (yes Stone Roses I'm looking at you), and a new wave of Indie land fill try again (catfish and the bottlemen stand up), listen to this song and tell me there isn't more superbly executed ideas in the little finger of this song than any of the aforementioned.

Awesome song - Wolf Alice are definitely the best of the current 'mainstream' indie crop.

I'm currently really into Sunflower Bean, who do a similar kind of thing, with a bit more 80s influence

Lovely, almost Cocteau-esque sound.  Why have I never heard of these before?

One massive playlist that spans all 17 albums.

    Sheer Class.
I want to see this. I have many questions...
    Do you shuffle?
Do you create it in chronological order from the first album through to Book of Souls?
Do you play it in chronological order?
    Favourite album?

Forgive me, i've been very ill and i had missed this completely.

A proper reply is being processed for you. I can't find a way of sharing the Itunes playlist and / or copy and pasting it into a reply. I've just looked and there's around 70 songs on there. It's 11 studio albums and 2 live albums, cherry picked the songs i like the most and adds up to over 7 hours, or as i like to call it, another normal day's listening. Actually it's half a day because i've got weapons grade insomnia so this actually gets played every single day, almost without fail.
I call it (rather tongue in cheek) 'Immersion Therapy'. I find it really helps when i come to play (Badly) along with the songs on my guitar, that i know the structure of the songs backwards. It also means i know the music will be top quality every day.
For the remaining hours i just play a general rock playlist. There is never no music on here, it's the law in this house. When people are sleeping, just turn it down but don't turn it off. We're all 'Fall asleep to music' people here so it's almost 24/7.

I will type the list out and any other random shit about maiden a bit later and answer your questions about listing it etc.

If in the meantime you know how to simply share an itunes playlist, do tell !

    Back later.

Dunno. Only one album; it's Chesney Hawkes' sister (a fairly successful session singer) and two writer/producers with fairly hefty back catalogues. The rest of the album is a bit Curve/Garbage-go-pop but in a good way. Fer instance - probably my favourite suicide-pact-love-song:

    Ok

1 - Yes i do shuffle but it depends on what mood i'm in. If i'm listening for learning a certain song then no but if it's just a general days' entertainment then yes shuffle but a mood to hear each Album in order is common too.
2 - Yes it's created on Chronological order so when not on shuffle it's 1982 onward - I'm not a Paul D'ianno Fan.
3 - When not on shuffle and not targeting a specific album / song, yes i play it in order.
4 - Favourite Album.........As a complete album of works and the most pleasure to listen to as an album ? Easy. Brave new world, however that does not contain my favourite song and i do have one standout track above all the others. It's in this 68 song list and those who know me personally will know which one it is but it would be interesting to see if anyone else can guess it. For me it rockets above anything else they've done, in this list or otherwise.

Anyway here is my playlist in order and i've used IMGUR to attach proper album artwork Jpegs for each album. For fans i've attached all the other album covers at the bottom. All easy to right click and save and all reasonable quality for decoration or whatever, Hope any Maiden fans enjoy this as much as this Maiden fan enjoys doing it.
