I have been on a major Nick Drake nostalgia kick recently. His music makes me feel better about, well, everything.

I also wish that  I could:

• play my acoustic that well
• write such beautiful lyrics
  
• sing with such feeling and touch
• compose such deceptively simple but gorgeous melodies

This is my favourite album of his...stripped back with just him and the guitar. They’re all great though.  

Talk about flying under the radar...

Sam Fender, lots and lots of Sam Fender as my 4 year old boy is obsessed with his music (once I’ve blocked the explicit songs of course). The album is pretty darn good to be honest. I dismissed this song as indie fodder but after thousands of listens, now I think it’s a brilliant piece of story telling and very fine songwriting.

Got this on this morning. New to me. From multiple sessions presumably, I don't know the exact line ups. I like this kind of stripped down/ live in the studio recording.
Ooh, wikipedia to the rescue : Lynott and Downey with Bell on three tracks ( Whiskey, Vagabond, Little Girl) then it's Gorham-Robertson on most tracks then just Moore on Little Darling and Still in Love. Phew!

Michael Kiwaniku - uncommonly my wife turned me on to this by nature of it featuring in a Netflix series she was watching. Turns out he’s pretty huge by the views on YouTube, so not some great find, but for me it is.
