There's been a whole thread on John Martyn in the music section and MYN gets lots of thumbs up, for the song, the playing and John Martyn's voice.
I know a lot of people love him. I can't stand his singing or his songwriting, and I'm not sure I can really listen to his guitar playing with either of those going on. I've really tried - I bought Solid Air recently, managed to listen to it all the way through once, tried again and had to take it off at May You Never.

The Black Eyed Peas going on about Tonight being a good night, how the fuck do you know Will.i.am ? if i hear that song i am normally in a horrible pub/club that the Mrs has dragged me into on a night out, so NO its not a fucking good night Mr Will.i.am
Ah, but it's a masterpiece compared to "My Humps" :). I'd forgotten about that one…

Gwen Stefani's 'Hollaback Girl' is another one. What's bizarre is that she can write genuinely beautiful, emotional songs like Cool and Early Winter, and then literally juxtapose them with utter shit like that.

"Take these three items, some WD-40, a vise grip, and a roll of duct tape. Any man worth his salt can fix almost any problem with this stuff alone." - Walt Kowalski

"Only two things are infinite - the universe, and human stupidity. And I'm not sure about the universe." - Albert Einstein

Oh god yeah, I spent many a day in 2000 trying not to kill everybody in the near vicinity whenever I heard Rock DJ.

You mean the world is crying out for a song with Robbie Williams rapping? Also with some of the cheesiest background music ever written. It's like lift music on fast forward.

Many moons ago I was working in a warehouse over the summer. The owner of the radio had the single of Believe by Cher on tape. They played it over and over and over. Once was bad enough.

And, while I'm venting, Perfect by Fairground Attraction.

Can't sing, can't dance, can handle a guitar a little.

Ah well, like I said, each to their own. We'll just ignore the fact you're wrong.  ;) :)

  • These motherfuckers right here:

The Connells with '74-'75, another insipid nothing song from the nineties. I suppose it was ahead of its time, as it would fit right in with the modern crop of acoustic wuss music.

I'm just a Maserati in a world of Kias.
