I have spent a month refitting and extensively insulating the workshop to include a spray booth, new paint prep area, assembly area, polishing station and dedicated fretwork and electrical assembly areas, all taking up at least a couple of square metres of benchspace.

before the question is asked, the labour saving work holding jig is home made and I made all the PTFE bearings on my lathe here to suit the materials I had...

I guess you could do a maple neck with an ebony fb without inlays.
It's kinda hard to visualise because the colour is so wild, I really want to suggest something quirky but it would probably clash.
maybe macassar ebony might work if you get the right piece.
