I ordered a Feline T type at the end of 2019. So spent much of the year paying for that. It should be with me hopefully late Jan 21.

I also bought a super clean Ibanez RG560 in grape ice. That needs a refret though.

Other than that it’s been quiet. I rebuilt my pedalboard. But nothing new there.

On a sad note my TC Nova system finally died last week. So I’m now up in the air about what to replace her with. The obvious choice is a TC G System. But I bought one last year and sent it back after a week. It was like a car bonnet with knobs on. But the fashion in multi FX is for warm analog type delays and I prefer sparkling 80’s fidelity. I owned a Helix for 3 months in 2018. But again. I just didn’t like any of the compressors or delays much. So I may just bang another £100 onto a used Nova and see how long I can make it last. If I play live next year I’ll be pleasantly surprised.

No regrets, no clearout planned as I think I have what I need so a one in, one out policy will probably apply. I'd more or less stopped playing mandolin pre-COVID but what has changed is that I have an electric; that's for quiet practice rather broadening what I play.

After this year of buying a lot and moving things on... I've settled on a lot of gear I'm happier with... I'm thinking about a pickup swap for the RGA121 (although I am liking the V7/V8 a lot more than I remember on my RG from 2003 ish) I don't really have much in mind to bring in.. maybe ill actually get round to playing some of it!!

Regrets
Maybe a slight regret for letting my Headstrong amp go. I did love it but it wasn't getting used much, and the TMDR gives me a very similar tone with a huge number of practical benefits.

I now own 3 Teles, so I might sell one of those. I also fancy acquiring a nice small bodied acoustic.

Barely touched my pedal board this year... I've either used the Spark amp (amazing btw) or a multifx pedal w/headphones I keep under my desk..
I've also joined the dark side and become a drummer after getting serious lockdown fever and seeing a wanted ad.. so having passed audition my 2021 goal is to learn how to play drums before the band figure out I don't have a clue what I'm doing..

Woo!! Nice. Drumming is fantastic. I've made my fair share of drummer jokes over the years but I get at least as much enjoyment from drumming as I do playing guitar. Playing extra instruments also makes you a much better musician, and that's the whole point, right?

It's taken me many years and many tweaks and adjustments to get to the point where I'm pretty much 100% happy with my two. Last thing I'd want to do is replace them!

Actually since I don't seem to be playing as much these days I've been considering lighter strings. Probably won't though, not yet anyway.

Thoughts- Covid has certainly made me look at my gear again, do i need all that crap? I haven't been in a practice room since March. My bassist plays in a ska band, and by default they haven't been able to practice at all. Not sure if I should have bought the Orange, but i'd always wanted one. I sold the Rivera, which i do kind of regret but I didnt have the know how or access to anybody who could have serviced it. I haven't put my pedal board together since about April. I'm in two minds if i need it? Was it overly complicated, do i really need a bypass looper? Or can i get by with a wah, fuzz, a few delays, a modulation pedal and a looper?
