Radio 3 has been replaced by something described as "A sequence of music", which is probably the phrase they came up with quickly in the meeting so they could go down the pub. It's basically a lot of music with announcements and no chat. I actually prefer it.

My biggest gripe isn't what they put on the BBC, that's irrelevant to me cos I don't watch it.

What pisses me off is I have to pay for it

Try listening to Radio 4 Extra.
Everyone there is so grief stricken, they're unable to carry on.
The entire station has been replaced with Radio 4.
Yeah, that tractor incident on The Archers that wiped out Jazzer has effected a lot of people.

I'm with Emp on this one.

It is absolutely ridiculous to show exactly the same thing on both the main channels at the same time.  Put it on BBC1 if someone wants to watch it.  If they don't then at least give us an alternative on BBC2.  As it is, I didn't watch any BBC content last night.  I get my news from the internet, not the TV.

Nobody watches live TV any more.
    Live TV about the dead.
If we are not ashamed to think it, we should not be ashamed to say it.

I’m with emp on this one , my folks were mad as their soaps were not even on catch up to watch
Even LBC was full of sycophants whining on about him , not everyone wants to hear about some elite old codger who has had no relevance to their life what so ever.

Thankfully I don’t watch live tv  but the radio was ruined last night. It’s not even like a major tragedy like when princess di died ,

the guy had a good innings and passed away peacefully in his sleep.
It obviously should be covered  but just stick it on one channel for old ladies and flag wavers to watch  and don’t ruin it for everyone else , it’s not 1948 now , a lot of people are not affected by all this pomp and pageantry anymore . RIP to the guy and all I respect his longevity but he meant nothing to me

I don't watch much TV at all to be honest - it's mostly shit.  ...but BBC1 AND BBC2 showing THE SAME fucking arselicking toadying shite to a rich old racist who has lived beyond the years any of us are likely to reach on the best medical care public taxes can buy ? OK, I get it that he's blah blah whatever, but WTF were they thinking in the BBC putting the same thing on both main channels ??  Pricks.
It's simple overkill to prevent any negative "anti-Royal" headlines coupled with the position of being state broadcaster. The BBC don't want the same shitty headlines they got over Peter Sissons' choice of tie when the Queen Mother died.

Maybe it's time to read a book.

Speaking as a serial whinger myself (confirmed by my missus), I quite enjoy Emp's whinges, and the predictable piling in by the usual suspects.

For what it's worth, BBC radio programmes were also identical yesterday.
I look at Emp as some kind of forum whingeing service so that the rest of us don’t have to bother.

    "Vicarious whinging".

I kind of get it, BUT only if one's own capacity to whinge is somehow impaired, otherwise it's simply being too lazy to whinge, which is in itself worth whinging about.

It's not about me.  I haven't watched a single moment of any of it.  I'm easily able to entertain myself.  This is about the reaction of the BBC.
