But the Evora was sublime. Brain-meltingly quick when the chap was driving (I was rather more restrained), very comfy but also very pointy. Marvellous thing. Now I just need a house with a garage... and to try the Alpine.
No more V6 Lotuses being made now, which seems an awful shame.
The Alpine has the advantage that it's not "all about the engine" in the way that say an M car or an AMG is. It's basically lifted from the Mégane RS which means it should be fairly reliable and fairly cheap in sports car terms to sort out should something go wrong.
If I were going down the PCP route I'd probably go for whatever had the lowest monthlies as I'll not be getting any return on the money spent regardless. With £50k of my own money I'd be much more inclined to get something more exclusive that would hold it's value better. With the right 911 etc you may actually lose very little (although running costs may be higher). I'd go so far as to get more niche advice than you'll get on a guitar forum.
You're also getting into i8 money which isn't the fastest thing on the road but is very much an "event" to drive.
The Lotus has a Toyota V6 (though with a dirty great supercharger) so has a similar advantage (also it sounds all mechanical and ace).

Don't want you disturbing your neighbours now.
In "touring" mode the button makes it louder.
In "Track" and "Race" modes the button makes it quieter.
Sorted.
Either way, if only children had a button like that........
A Merc SL (fer example) is much plusher, but the Lotus is infinitely more involving to drive. Better, too, than the 911 I had for a day, but again not as nice inside. The seats are great though. Well, the front ones are. I didn't risk trying to get into the back kbes.
Ridonculous. So that'll be a factory order instead of the demonstrator, and a year's wait.
However, Lady BMcH has unambiguously said I am allowed to buy one on Monday if I like it, or an Evora if I don't.
Infinity G37, VW Passat CC R32 (rare but excellent fun) or the Jaguar XF5.0 Sport (still nothing touches a V* for driving pleasure)

The Passat isn't an option for the same reason the TTRS isn't - I already have one 4wd Golf, no need for two. Tried a G37 years ago; nice inside, and fast, but rubbish to drive. And the XF is too big, plus I already have the sensible estate covered.
