I watched the aforementioned First Dates episode. He is certainly odd. Whether he's a twat or not, dunno. Underneath the bluster, I think there is a deeply insecure man, who's desperate to find someone. Can't say I'd be rushing to have a pint with him, but tbh, I think that is true for most polticians regardless of party. Most of them seem like berks to me, out of touch with reality by a long way. Labour/Tory, insert any other, all just as bad. Diane Abbott is top of that list.

I have no idea who he is, but a tie with a button-down colour and what appears to be a velour jacket. Not a great look. And I don't care if it's his real hair - it doesn't look like his real hair...

He's a twat of the first order, it's like he's modelled himself on a Harry Enfield impersonation of a Tory MP. He was on First Dates recently and got very shirty when his date suggested he "lose the wig"... he actually claims it's his real hair. He was also incredibly leery and letchy towards his date... his clothes obviously match his 1970s mindset. 

Having watched the vid of him dating I now know reality isn't real. Thia is Little Britain isn't it? Please. Say. Yes.

It was a deliberate strategy of the Tory government under Thatcher - to increase home ownership by the sale of council houses, cut public services and make it more expensive to live in constituencies where the Tories could gain an advantage, and concentrate Labour voters into a smaller number of constituencies which could then be written off, the idea being to gain a permanent Tory majority.

Read up on the Westminster Council 'homes for votes' scandal if you don't believe this - that was only the most blatant example. It was one of the reasons behind the 'right to buy' policy for council houses across the country.

Going off topic here...

I was reading recently how there are some places in the US where a gun licence is accepted as a valid ID for being able to vote, but a student ID isn't. Again an attempt by the right to secure control.

Having been born in Lichfield, worked there and met my wife there etc. etc.  He's a bit misunderstood imo. He likes a curry when he's home and I've been in a couple of places when he's been in there. Needs to sort his barnet/syrup out though.

There is a premium to be paid for living there but that's down partly to historical reasons and partly to transport links. It's not as genteel as most would imagine. It can actually be quite a frightening place to be on a Saturday night.
