Loving those two.....I could make one amazing board from them !!

Here's the old girl now wired up. I shall tidy it a bit, but truly, I am done with pedal boards now. This is exactly what I want.

    I give it 1 month tops :-P
The Bigsby was the first successful design of what is now called a whammy bar or tremolo arm, although vibrato is the technically correct term for the musical effect it produces. In standard usage, tremolo is a rapid fluctuation of the volume of a note, while vibrato is a fluctuation in pitch. The origin of this nonstandard usage of the term by electric guitarists is attributed to Leo Fender, who also used the term “vibrato” to refer to what is really a tremolo effect.

  • Recabled with Lava cables - just looks neater, and there's no faffing about with oversized/undersized cables:

Also moved the loop pedals to the front and the pedals in front of the amp to the back - much easier to deal with. Unfortunately, because the Lava connectors take up so much less space,I now have a gap that I don't know what to do with. Perhaps a Pitchfork or Drop...I fancy some decent polyphonic octave goodness.

Looks very tidy, but that space is begging to be filled.

    Additions and a tidy up

The One spot is quieter and neater than the DC brick.
The Digitech Screamin Blues is great for £25 and can get you out of a hole if your amp dies.
    Don't touch that dial.

Thanks @allicio, the blossom pedal is a handpainted JHS Morning Glory. Yeah that honey bee is pretty special, was a run from Bearfoot FX's first anniversary, this is #1 of 20 I believe. While it's pretty I bought it for the extra "tone/presence" control.

I reckon a TC Nova Repeater would fit beautifully... ;)

Nah, I reckon you'd have fun with a Drop.

The Boss Overtone is quite fun and can do lots of interesting sounds.

Yup. The logic at the moment is to keep the tuner as far away from everything else as I can, thus avoiding those embarrassing "silent solo" moments ;)

Had a bit of a re-jig. Gone from this:

Turns out 4 or 5 dirt pedals on a board at once is a bit of overkill! The Mobius was amazing but I was only ever really using the tremolos on it so I flipped it for a flint and have been amazed at the quality of the verbs on it. In fact i'm so impressed with the flint that if I could only ever use one effect pedal again it would have to be the flint. Also i'm a bit of a vibe fan and the mobius could never quite cut it for me vibe wise. It never nailed the liquid smooth drippy swirl that only a real vibe gives. Side note: amazingly the little zoom g3/ms-50 etc have a GREAT sounding vibe on them as long as you set them right.
Also I found that I was constantly tweaking with the Mobius. Much simpler with individual pedals though I will miss the mobius. It's an amazing pedal and i'm sure some people really use it to it's full potential but I wasn't. To be honest I don't need everything the timeline does either since I mainly use only tape and analog delays but I do need multiple presets for them so the timeline is staying. I'm very impressed with the new MDV1 deja vibe. Also the EVH phase 90 is great. Just what you need, one dial, set just right. I hope to give it all the lava cable treatment at some point and add an SP compressor.

Very nice Rik. What patch cables are you using though?

  • Just cheapy ones from my local guitar shop. They've never let me down but I like the neatness of the lava cable system and being able to get them just the right length.

downsizing is almost complete...there is 1 pedal to go on it i think...but i will need to get more compact/flexible patch cables...

My whole rig and board has got a whole lot more streamlined. I have the 4 channels set up as: 1. Clean with delay. 2. clean with compressor. 3. Main drive tone (boosted recto). 4. Crunch tone (crunchy blackface)
