I think it would just generally do my head in. 

Things you started and chose are enough IMO.

I'd happily do without all those notifications if it meant getting the option of auto-bookmarks

But I mean it's your forum and your call, if that's the way you want it to be that's fine by me.

I personally don't see the harm in having the option, it can be off by default.

Yeah I have no problem whatsoever with having to opt in. That's what I meant when I initially requested it.

Unless it's a ton of bother, of course. I don't want to give you guys a ton of work, I know it's taken enough work already to get the forum up and running.

I might have missed the info as I haven't read all the thread but I would like to be able to mark 1 sections posts as read not all the forum.

^ That's a decent idea. I wouldn't need it myself, but I can imagine it might be useful for some people- say if you've read one section but then you have to go out or something.

As long as it could keep the global "mark forums read" button, which is handy too.

Notifications.  Im starting to get quite a few, even if I'm just away from the screen for a couple of hours.    Now i like that im told I have  23  or  31 new notifications but hows everyone getting on finding the last one they previously looked at.

Could they be numbered, so when it says you have 26, I can find no 26 quickly, or better still only show the new notifications, or like the threads themselves grey the notifications already seen?

Found how to do it now, from the top level hover over the section name when the gear wheel shows up it gives the option to 'mark as read'

If I may be so bold, the quote system is a bit cack. Any plans on improving it?

Yes. We know it's a bit clunky at the mo. You can use the indent buttons to set up quotes manually if you break one though. The next release is in development, and the plan is to continually improve the site.
