Ultimately at this moment as I think about it the top 3 for me are singers and songwriters as well and it's the songs that I remember the most.
1. Gary Moore - Rock phase not into his return to the blues. So influential, feel, tone, attack, speed
2. Midge Ure - listen to his rhythm playing on Vienna and Rage in Eden, also melodic and multipart solos, in UltraVox and later solo work. Great songwriter, producer, keyboards
3. Stuart Adamson - early Big Country albums The Crossing and Steel Town. His songwriting telling stories, intricate rhythm and melodies, sounds, all while he is singing at the same time.
Dan Huff if I could have a 4th incredible guitarist in his session work but especially the Giant Album Last of the runaways
Others George Lynch in Dokken, Howard Lease in Heart, Tony Mcalpine, Michael Lee Firkins, Nik Kershaw incredible musician, John Williams, Mark Knocker, Brian May, list goes on and on,
My most likely answers for most of the last 30-odd years:
1. Robin Trower
2. Leslie West
3. George Lynch (not sure about that one, there were many contenders...)
The people I've actually listened to the most for the last few years:
1. Nick DiSalvo
2. Isaiah Mitchell
3. Josh Weaver
2. Keef and mick taylor
3. Hendrix
