I can't help about the shape I'm in, I can't sing I ain't pretty and my legs are thin
But don't ask me what I think of you, I might not give the answer that you want me to
2. Clapton with Cream. Since then.....not so much.
3. Third choice changes a bit but today I am going to say Robben Ford. I really like his attitude. His last album but one was played (all of it) on the neck pickup of a '63 Epiphone Riviera. I love that. Pick a sound that you love and allow that sound to dominate the whole album. Fabulous.
Bill Frisell
Wes Montgomery
Nels Cline.
Interesting choice, Paul Weller. His playing with The Jam is soooooo underrated, it's unreal
Mike Sullivan is one of my favourite players for heavy stuff. For punk: ian MacKaye and guy picciotto from fugazi.
1) Allan Holdsworth- His chordal work and his improvisational skills. I never tire of listening to him. Constantly evolving. I've met him four times after gigs and he is the sweetest guy. Real example of humility.
2) Robben Ford, my kind of blues guitarist
3) Wayne Krantz - my kind of jazz/funk guitarist
Was really tempted to include GG, as he can play pretty much anything. It's odd though, sometimes he'll play something which will make the hairs on my arm stand on end. On other occasions though, his playing leaves me a bit cold.
It's for his playing during The Jam years I picked him
Neil Young - a legend
Jonny Greenwood - unique
Dan Auerbach - probably my favourite over the last few years.
Just missing out would be Richard Hawley, Weller, early Clapton & Green.
Dave Gilmour
Bill Nelson
hard to limit it to 3, also love Nuno Bettencourt +Evh's rhythm playing
Joe Satriani
Alex Lifeson
