They should give me a job as QA manager. I'd whip that shit into shape within weeks! grrrrrrrr.

There *is* a reason that Line 6, Roland, Yamaha, and to a certain extent Digitech don't have regular firmware updates. They get it right in the first place. For their target market anyway.

In very few cases does design by committee+community input+regular point releases result in good design.
Why pay when you seem to do it for free already?

    ;)

I've re-done the patch and it seems much bette now.. CPU is down to 71% and switching between scenes is a LOT better.  Next rehearsal is wednesday so I'll know for sure after then.
    haa.. awesome stuff….
the trick with multi-tonal presets is to have them do just what you need
if you end up well under 85% you may be able to cram in a little more as a bonus..
but if that takes you to 89% or more, abandon that addition..

Next firmware will have a preference for saturation behaviour, authentic and "ideal" which will be the non-attenuated version.
no prizes for guessing what everyone will choose.. lmao

  • @Drew_fx, you're not wrong about the attitude of some chumps on the FAS forum, there does seem to be a bit clique at times.

Look on the bright side, at least you didn't get a thread closed down for offering someone (Jay Mitchell) the opportunity to discuss a difference of opinions in a pub car park. Apparently that translates as being aggressive.

I saw Cliff threaten to ban someone last night for being argumentative.

    Made me sad.

Yeah, the Friedman HBE is actually pretty damn amazing. Played with it a fair amount this weekend. I'm sorting through the Factory presets, sorting the wheat from the chaff, which is how I came across it.

iirc, the HBE is Mark Day's amp of choice for his gainy stuff..

the HB is nice too [especially with the boost, sat and brit on].. or it was last time I tried it [fw9 I think]

It cleans up quite nicely too. with the whole 2 amps and a volume to cut/boost the input to get a 3rd channel trick you can have some very good sounds with those two models.

so have you tried running a pair of amps panned hard yet?

Yeah. I'm not a fan to be honest. If I'm going to do two amps, I'd rather have them both in the middle and double-track the riff instead. I've got a really nice combination of Diezel and JCM800 at the moment. Sounds fat as fook. Might switch out the JCM800 for the Friedman tonight.
