I *almost* entered this image as I quite like the composition. But because I thought it was quite similar to other entries I decided to enter something a bit different which I think showed her playful character. I think deciding what to enter is a challenge in itself!

I'll start: my photo is Indie, my ex-racing greyhound. We've had her for nearly 3 years now, and in that time she has *completely* stolen my heart

Ruby is a 4 year old English Bull Terrier, she is both a joy and a disaster, not an ounce of aggression in her, well socialised. She is an absolute cuddle monster, loves people and most other dogs, very terrrier, she caught a mouse a couple of days ago, a true comedian, easily distracted, wilful and stubborn….cant imagine being without the idiot

Her brother from another mother is Harry a 10 year old Stafford, who puts up with her antics

Mine is 'Buddy' my daughter's Lab. I look after him from time to time, maybe 10 times a year. Comes around my house, jumps on the furniture, barks at my neighbours, thinks he owns the fcking place. 

My daughter says he gets stomach upsets and not to feed him except the biscuits she gives me. But I always give a full English. He seems to enjoy it. I always take him for a 7 mile walk to work it off and in the afternoon he tends to just go to sleep.

Nice dog, friendly, but weird. If he goes on a walk and sees another dog approaching he goes into 'pounce' mode like a lion. I think he must've been raised by cats.

Mine is our Labrador, Daisy. She’s getting on for 3 now, we’ve had her since she was a pup. She’s a typical Lab: very loyal, obedient, good recall, obsessed with food, will chase a ball all day, loves water. Untypically her best mates are our two cats. She’s definitely Number 2 in the pecking order though, Number 1 being Finn, one of the cats, who completely dominates her.

With this months comp closing 10 days before Halloween I've trawled through photos taken last October and found one taken 25/10/22 which just qualifies. It's just a snapshot I took of a nearby house spectacularly decorated for Halloween so not really competition quality but it will have to suffice until and unless I'm accosted by ghouls or zombies before 21st

I've been waiting until a few houses get decorated around here, as I haven't seen anything much to shoot so far this month apart from a pile of pumpkins at a garden centre... I didn't even think of looking at last year's photos! I'll get on that in a minute

Yes, I seem to have made a rather large miscalculation in choosing this theme.

I don’t blame you for the theme, it’s potentially much more interesting than just Autumn. The timing is the issue.
