Oh I pointed out the PCB cos it's a labour saving part of the manufacture, not because I see using PCB's as sub standard.

To me it seems a lot of money, £700 will get you a lot more than than a small 30 watt head. I know people will pay for the name, i spose as long as they know it's the name they are paying for rather than the sum of the parts it's not a problem
    It's true.

You think that's bad, look at what people will pay for the two rock crystal, which they have openly said is a very simple circuit.

    Obviously sounds nice, though.

So I went to andertons today and didn't even bother trying the v30, the silverback had me. I don't know if rob's spiel about all the channels is accurate or not and I did find that eq I got to wasn't particularly bass heavy on the pot, most likely supporting the feedback about the other victory amps being difficult balance in a live mix but it sounded great on all the channels to me.

I will be buying one as soon as I can sell my mesa and one if not both of my Marshall's. And for the record I played it through a mesa thiele 1x12 with a les Paul classic standard, an ml-1 and Charvel Sam Dimas hard tail. All of them sounded very very good to my ears. I will certainly aim to record some samples when I do get one.

Soundcloud it dude. To be fair, I will get one at some point, I can't keep waiting for the used market unfortunately.

I must state before going any further I'm not a 'rock' player - so my ability to judge may be in question - but am I alone in thinking that just sounds like any other generic Marshallesque type amp?

That sounds like a LOT of money for a lunch-box head.

Someone on here was virtually giving a away a Mesa TA15 recently, which suggests there's a limit to what people will pay for this kind of thing.

    Hey Lee

No I haven't played one yet but I've had nearly every Cornford they made so was going to buy it blind off the back of that and send it back under the 7 day distance selling act if it wasn't much cop.

For home though it's nearly half a Mark V 25 or Atma. Gotta be good for home. Surely. ;-)

Stop doing this to yourself mate. You've built this up way too much, as I did the same.

My life spiralled out of control after I plugged into the V30. I had this crazy idea that it would be the tone to crush all others. But alas it was just a metal box full of components that contained no tone at all.

If you're looking for a home amp at that money, a second hand Soldano Atomic 16 would be a vastly better bet (and slightly cheaper).

These things just seem to compete in all the wrong places for what they deliver. It's a shame, I had high hopes.

I'd best go home with my shitty solid state amp then.

Edit: that was supposed to be funny, but came across as a bit aggressive. Was not intended!
