As ICBM said earlier a DS-1 stacked with an SD-1 can sound good! The DS-2 I had was basically a DS-1 with a mid boost on the Turbo mode. And that's the only way to run that pedal IMO...can't stand the DS-1 really as its gutless.

I've one of those Vintage Rat reissues. It can do overdrive, distortion and at extremes gets pretty fuzzy. Great pedal. Very pleasing.

    Noise, randomness, ballistic uncertainty.

I totally recommend Sweet Tea or Double Barrel of JHS Pedals! They are awesome!

Suprised nobody has mentioned the OCD yet, unless my distortion level threshold is a little lower than everyone else. :D

Yep. The OCD V.4 with a TS808 before it sings like a canary and obviously, you benefit from their individual sounds and different gain stages. I do this and my 808 is a Keeley, so I don't know if that makes a difference.

An Xotic RC feeding either an AC or BB also works well and as an all-in-one, another +1 for the Box of Rock and i've heard good things about the Jetter GS3
